Mr. Trump goes to Washington.

Please don't confuse this trip with the 1939 movie about a Senator "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" with James Stewart and Jean Arthur.
Remember Mr. Trump will be the next President.

For those that don't remember, an important scene "Lost Causes".   Wouldn't that be great if this really could happen in are government today?
Enough about the cinematic side of America and on to what happened.

WHY THESE VIEWS

I've lived in France since 1969 I retirement in 1998 at the age of 60.
Since, my wife and I have the time so we started traveling not as tourist but to discover the people and how they lived worldwide.
I found many people interest in America. I started giving talks and conferences in Africa and France on: American values, culture and society.
Here in France no one believed that Donald had a chance, when I told them they didn't understand Americans and that Donald had a very good chance to be the next President of the most powerful country in the world.
They all said I was crazy, since the 9th of November they say that the Americans are crazy (I guess that leaves me out).
I followed the elections on television going from one station to the other checking out CNN, CNBC, SKY, CBS, FOX what I found out is that many didn't believe Donald would win. I really don't understand why the media and so many people where surprised.
First rule to con someone, are in our case a nation is to promise everything the people our nation wants to hear.
Abraham Lincoln "We must not promise what we ought not, lest we be called on to perform what we cannot."

WHAT WENT WRONG?

I wrote a chapter in July "THE FUTURE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY".
The Democratic Party tried to play the game using the old political rules. Some commitments made in 2012, not listing to people that tried to warn them about the situation. The social network is good but only when there is a dialogue and not a monlog.

There was also the problem that people didn't think things were going fast enough with Barrack.
When you try to really give a equal chance to everyone it takes time.

When you have a government that isn't working with the President his hands are tied and nothing moves. No one wants to talk about the way the President was respected or treated.
Maybe the advantage Donald will have is that since the Democratic have lost at all levels and the Senate and Congress are in the hands of the Republicans maybe something will get done, but this isn't because it hadn't been asked during the Obama era.
What may happen is that Donald will ignore the government body since he like to do thing on his own. Will the government be able to control him? WHO KNOWS.

WHY SUCH A FEAR?

During the Presidential Campaign Donald has scared many people and his campaign style was something new.
He was always disagreeable which showed that he place self-interest above getting along with others.
Research shows that people that are disagreeable are typically viewed as untrustworthy. The agreeableness trait reflects individual differences in general concern for social harmony.
Agreeable individuals' value getting along with others.
Why Donald Trump’s personality define a presidency that could be at high risk. The fear to see a president that has no relation with the truth. If not controlled (which he said he wouldn't be) he will be daring and ruthlessly with his desire to create the best, the tallest, the strongest with no thought about what collateral damage he will leave behind.
One of his Campaign promises: "Start winning again. "We're going to win so much -- win after win after win -- that you're going to be begging me: 'Please, Mr. President, let us lose once or twice. We can't stand it any more.' And I'm going to say: 'No way. We're going to keep winning. We're never going to lose. We're never, ever going to lose."

Another fear for Americans isn't Donald Trump but some of his electors :

A LEGAL RIGHT

Remember that Donald Trump was elected by the American people in a democratic procedure.
He is new in politics and like all newly hired persons should be given the chance to prove that he can act as a president.

Important:

The United States Elections Project show that there were 231,556,622 Americans eligible to vote, but 130,840,000 voted. That means that 43.4 percent didn’t vote, while 56.6 percent did. This is with 56.5 percent of voter-eligible ballots counted.

I hope that all the people that are marching in the streets all over the US today can show that they did vote, if not they have no legal right to complain.

The only legal procedure to remove a president is by "Impeachment" but remember that it has never happened:

The Unthinkable Process: It's the last thing you would ever think could happen to an American President. Since 1841, over one-third of all American Presidents have either died in office, became disabled, or resigned. However, no American President has ever been forced from office due to impeachment.
In fact, only four times in our history, has Congress held serious discussions of impeachment:

WE JUST HAVE TO SIT THIS THING OUT FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS

FOR THE 43% THAT DIDN'T VOTE THAT SHOULDN'T BE HARD

THE PROMISE LAND

Most presidential candidates are careful to not promise too much on the campaign trail but:

And please remember a John Adams Quote:

Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.
